8 Hour Intermediate Driver Improvement Class (IDI)
This 8 hour Florida Traffic School class is normally ordered by the courts as part of a sentencing judgment. The Intermediate Driver Improvement course is for the individual who has:
- Received multiple traffic citations.
- Received mandatory or serious traffic violations.
- Been involved in numerous collisions.
Some Florida counties allow you to take this course for a traffic ticket if you have already taken the 4 hour Basic Driver Improvement course in the last 12 months. Each county determines if this 8 hour course can be taken for a ticket. Check with the county before you take this class to satisfy your specific requirement.
Our 8 Hour IDI is offered two ways; as an Online Internet Class and in a Traditional Classroom. Whichever method you choose, your Completion Certificate is accepted in all 67 Florida Counties.
Internet Class Features
Our internet class is designed to be as convenient as possible for the student. It is a 8 hour class, but you work at your own pace. You complete the readings in increments of time, according to your own schedule. Any time you sign out to take a break, the next time you logon, you are returned to the point where you left. You can even use a different computer to sign in the next time.
The 8 Hour IDI (Intermediate Driver) internet class is divided into eighteen (18) modules. At the end of each module, there are a couple of simple review questions. (Hint - remember these answers or print them.) After you read through the materials, answer the module review questions, you take a final exam. The computer grades the exam and you will know immediately if you have passed. You need to get 80% or more correct to pass. If you do not pass, you will be able to retake the test immediately at no additional charge.
The TOTAL cost of our online class is $49.95. It includes the course, all State of Florida fees, certificate processing and expedited electronic delivery of your certificate to the email address you provide. There are NO HIDDEN FEES or surprise charges when you register! (Other Online Schools charge you an additional $9.95 for email delivery.)
When you successfully complete the internet class, your certificate will be e-mailed to you within 24 business hours at No Extra Charge. We routinely process and email Certificates 2 times a day, Monday through Friday. When you receive it, simply print it on your own printer for the court.
Internet Class Registration and Access
Our online classes are very simple to use. You log onto our virtual classroom web site and Register online via your normal Internet connection. Nothing special is required or needs to be downloaded.
When you register for this internet traffic school class, you choose your own password and username to gain immediate access to the course. After registering, you will be given an Access Code. Write down all 3 of these.
Once you are registered, you can return to the Online Florida Traffic School as many times as you need to complete the class. You may complete the course in one sitting or login many times. You can sign in 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from any computer connected to the internet.
We encourage students to complete your final exam within 4-5 business days prior to your court due date so we can deliver the certificate to you and you have time to deliver it to the Traffic Court. This is especially necessary if you do not have an Email address and we have to "snail mail" your certificate via USPS. If you do not have a printer and the certificate needs to be rushed via FedEx, a "rush fee" may apply. In a real emergency, we can complete your certificate within a couple hours notice!
Live 8 Hour Intermediate Driver Class at ADES Center
The 8 hour IDI traffic school class is available on alternate weekendsin a Traditional Live Classroom course at our Tampa Center. A class is completed in one day on Saturdays. Students need to pre-register for a weekend class no later Friday at 5:30 pm. (See our traffic school class schedule page).
Our classes are conducted in a relaxed seminar style format. The course is divided into multiple sessions and topics. While there is no test required to complete the class, students are expected to actively participate in the seminar discussions in order to receive their Completion Certificate.
The cost of this Live Classroom course is $65.00 (in English). It includes the course, classroom materials, all State of Florida fees, and your certificate. Your original Completion Certificate (for the Court) and a copy is provided at the end of the class, as well as a copies of your Court Papers for your records.
