Do you teach ESOL Classes?

ESOL means English for Speakers of Other Languages.  Our English course has been designed for Spanish and Portuguese Speakers.  Working with a small group of people who all have the same native language, make the explanation and the understanding faster, especially in initial and basic levels.  Later, the students have bilingual classes and when they achieve a modest level of vocabulary, they are ready to get classes only in English and are introduced to many idioms and phrases used in everyday situations.  At ADES we work with our own methodology.

Will I take a test to know what Level I am?

Yes you will.  Students who enroll at ADES Center range from true beginners to already knowing some English.  Before you register you will be given an oral and written evaluation.  This evaluation is free and it does not obligate you to register.

How long will it take me to learn English?

The complete course lasts twelve months.  However, the actual time depends on your native capabilities and the level you will begin in.  Learning English requires a medium or long process.  We want our students to have realistic expectations.

At the end of the first month of class and after we have measured your pronunciation, memory, etc., then we will be able to tell you how much time you will need.  Each student is different.

Are classes at ADES taught in Spanish or English?

Our instructors are bilingual and American.  However, when the students are beginners and learning vocabulary, tenses and basic grammar rules, we typically teach in Spanish.

As a student's vocabulary and English language skills increase, they are introduced to more classes taught in English.  This method helps them to learn English quicker, begin understanding spoken English faster and increases their self confidence in the use of this new language.
